Hospital staffing levels are unsafe

The nursing staff levels are unsafe at NHS wards and this has been warned by the Safe Staffing Alliance, SSA.

In 2012, the SSA came into form. The alliance comprises Royal College of Nursing, the Patients Association and Unison. It has a belief that it is not safe for a registered nurse to take care of about eight patients in a ward.

There are arguments on eight patients being unsafe for one nurse to look after and the safety levels have been ignored for long now.

More staffing levels are needed for nurses to provide meaningful care to patients.

Nearly a year after several reports said that Google co-founder and CEO Larry Page was suffering from a mystery illness, Page has now disclosed the exact nature of his `rare' ailment in a lengthy blog post.

40-year-old Page revealed in the blog post that the problem he is suffering from is called vocal cord paralysis, which is a nerve problem that causes occasional difficulty in breathing and speaking.

After waiting for long to speak to someone, there are several patients who hang up after making a call to 111.

The NHS service introduced across England has serious flaws and the safety of people are being risked, GPs warn.

In just about a month, there has been a 300 per cent hike in the number of people who have abandoned calls after waiting for over 30 seconds.

In February, the number of such people was 6976 but in March, this figure rise up to 29,100. This was stated by NHS, England.

In February the overall call length was 14.19 minutes and in March this became 18 minutes.
