According to bigwig US carrier Verizon Wireless, two new handsets that it started selling this month are capable of taking advantage of the carrier's next network upgrade - Advanced Wireless Service (AWS) - which can increase Internet speeds by around two times.

The two handsets - which will be the first smartphone to work on Verizon's next network - are: the Nokia Lumia 928, which went on sale earlier this month; and the Samsung Galaxy S4, which hit the markets last week.

Several companies pull their Facebook ads over offensive content

According to a Financial Times report, a number of companies have pulled their advertising campaigns from the Facebook social network after they found that their ads were appearing alongside offensive photos and posts.

Among the firms - nearly 15 in number - that have removed their ads from Facebook are Nissan UK, Specialty Natural Medicine, eReader Utopia, and UK-based Nationwide. The reason behind the removal of ads by these companies was that their ads appeared next to misogynistic content.
