Dentists have warned that kids are prone to dental problems owing to the ways (wrong) some parents bottle feeding practices for their babies. Lot of cases where children with rotten or damaged teeth are being reported and some damaged tooth cases are so bad that it has to be removed.

Whether it's for regular feeding or just the odd drink, many babies and toddlers are supplied with a bottle an official of the New Zealand Dental Association said. Furthermore what causes damage to a very young child's teeth is not just limited to sweet drinks but milk as well, if a bottle is left with the child for long periods or the milk bottle is given at bedtime.

Recent findings from New Zealand dentists show that there's growing evidence of parents developing bad bottle practices making the children susceptible to tooth decay and damaged teeth, further putting the layout of teeth at risk.

David Crum from the New Zealand Dental Association said that the parents put the child to bed with a sweet drink or in the bottle as a result lot of acid is produced that make the teeth rot. He also added that some of them smear honey on the bottle’s teat, making the child stick to bottle feeding. This practice greatly affects the child’s teeth and the practice is really damaging to the babies’ teeth. There has been a growing trend of cases where very young children are in need of general anaesthetic to have rotten teeth removed and that the Association is concerned.
