There has been noticeable alarm regarding the Australia's boozy culture. In a recent survey, it has found that more than 4 million adults drink to get drunk.
Maximum Australians consider that the nation has a problem with alcohol misuse. Last year it was 59 per cent and now it has been increasing widely.
A survey was conducted in January which included 1009 people. This survey was done by the publicly funded Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation.
The survey has resulted that about 67 % of the Australians want tougher measures to control the drinking culture. They are ready to have the prohibition on alcohol advertising on television before 8.30pm and also banning alcohol industry donations to political parties. 62 per cent are supporting the preface of health warning labels on alcohol while 58 per cent prefer to have the establishment of an independent regulatory body.
The most common age of the drinkers is from 18 to 29. 61 per cent of them stated that they drank alcohol to get drunk. In contrast, very few Australians said that they preferred alcohol once or more a week.
On the other hand, it was found that the youth were addicted more to drinking than any other age groups. They drink on more days each week.
