Bank of England all set to revise economic growth and inflation forecast

The Bank of England, in its quarterly inflation report, is expected to revise the forecasts for the economic growth and inflation in 2011.

AIB increases mortgage interest rates by 0.5%

Allied Irish Bank (AIB) announces that nearly 50,000 of its mortgage customers will be suffered by a 0.5 percent increase in the mortgage interest rates.

The bank posted pre-tax loss of 2 billion euro for the first six months of the year.

Managing director of AIB, Colm Doherty revealed that the bank was incurring losses on mortgages and thus pushed to increase the interest rates.
