A pod of whales spotted dead near off the coast of a Scottish island are thought to have been found dead in Ireland.

Thirty-five long-finned pilot whales were found lying near the beach off Co Donegal.

They were found after the high tide mark on Rutland Island on Saturday. The group mostly comprise of mothers and calves who were found lying beside each other on the shady beach.
