The work on the new 8 million pounds health care center has been put on hold for the island of Mull and Lona. The government of Scotland has cleared that the construction work on the project will not start before the details of the spending review of the UK government were released.

The construction work in the new center at Craignure was due to start on Monday but I was not happened.

The people of the island have raised more than 300,000 pounds towards the cost of the center by their 10 years long campaign. The work has been on hold since 2001 and the construction work would have includes buildings for health care, housing and social care.

The West Highland Housing Association and ArgyII and Bute Council had worked together to ensure the project went ahead but they had not seen the amount of expected success. They were told on last Friday that the construction work could not begin as planned as no contract had been signed formally foe the work. All of the involved agencies in this project are waiting for the spending review of the UK government.
