Customers upset as Kindle sold off within seconds on Amazon

Customers in the UK were left disappointed when Amazon's second generation Kindle e-reader, which was offered on Black Friday sale price of $89, was sold out with seconds of its appearance on the site of the American retailer.

The offer was what is described as a `Lightning Deal' flashed for a few seconds and went off moments after the 9AM Pacific Time appearance of the cheaper e-book reader. Internet users flooded the forums with complains about the deals they were interested in went off before a click of a mouse.

About 2000 units of Amazon Kindle were sold off so fast that some are even questioning if it did went on sale in the first place. The Kindles apparently were sold off with two secnds with one thousand being sold in each second.

The retailer said that it had warned customers that some deals would be available for a limited time only. `Offers will take the form of "Lightning Deals" with a limited quantity of an item being offered at a discount for a short period of time. Once that quantity has been reached or the time limit elapses, the "Lightning Deal" will end,' it said.
