Marmite chemical can cure heart diseases: Study

Recently the Daily Mail has informed that heart attack sufferers may live longer if they start eating marmite. The newspaper said that a lack vitamin B1 get faster curing of tissue that causes heart damage. Benfotiamine is the substance that can prevent heart failure as a complication of diabetes.

A research was done in animals relating how diabetic and non-diabetic rats get recovery after a surgically-induced heart attack.

Scientists researched and found that diabetic mice had worse results after heart attack. It could not produce insulin.

However, when the mice were given diet with benfotiamine, it improved survival in both mice groups and had optimistic effects on heart function in the diabetic mice before the surgery.

The researchers got success in this but their research was done in small number of mice. Thus they have to do similar researches to find out whether these same effects would be seen in diabetic and non-diabetic humans.
