Sarkozy’s Idea of Stripping Definitive Criminals off their Nationality Gathers Support
One of the surveys that were recently carried out were of the suggestion that 70-80% of the French populace agreed with President, Sarkozy’s idea that definitive criminals’ French nationality status should be taken away or they should be stripped off with the privilege for being of a ‘ foreign origin’.
The suggestion that had been formalized before the end of this month, is facing fire from both the left and the right stating that it was mocking and impractical.
The more considerate critics comprise two people, who do not hate Sarkozy by any means, the celebrity philanthropist, Bernard-Henri Levy and the ex-Socialist Prime Minister, Michel Rocard.
There were many questions whether the new law was only going to be applicable upon people from foreign land or if it was going to be for second and third generation people migrating from a foreign land.
What was going to happen to those living without any nationality?
Prior to the elections in the year 2007, Mr. Sarkozy had assured that a lot of positive things would be done by him, but not much has been done up till now.
A lot are even depressed with the slow running pace of the economic reformations, which had been ensured by Sarkozy, while camping, during the elections held in 2007.
