Compensation from the government is 0ffensive- Says Bob’s family

hepatitis-c Bob Purnell was infected with contaminated blood and had died two years back. His wife has articulated the enhanced government compensation package as an offence.

From 1970 Bob Purnell was suffering from the disease hepatitis C. He had received this disease after a transfusion with contaminated blood from the US. He had struggled a lot for getting compensation but he was unsuccessful and died at last.

Finally the government has announced for the extra payments on Monday. Mr. Purnell's widow Gill, from Bristol has said that she would not give up rather than she would continue to fight for other victims.

There was a declaration made on Monday that people in England who have been infected with hepatitis C would be provided extra money. This infection was caused after receiving infected blood products from the NHS.

Almost 43000 patients who have been suffering from haemophiliacs were treated in 1970s and 80s, once again had suffered from the same disease.

This incident was considered as the one of the biggest tragedies in the history of modern health care as stated by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley.
