Martha kept her cool, called the hospital and put the dogs away. She was later sent to the emergency room, reported celebrity magazine.

Later on, Martha wrote in her blog that as soon as she leaned over her dog Francesca, who was dozing at that time, it got startled and hit her. Since she was standing upright at that time, she got startled and fell down suffered harm to her lips.

Ironically, the incident happened just when she had returned from her trip to Cartagena, Colombia and Florida. As soon as she reached home, she wanted to spend time with her French dogs and that was the time when the whole incident took place.

At the emergency room, Stewart was looked after by Dr. William Nolan who gave her nine stitches. He said that she had come to him pretty injured. The cut had crossed the skin and reached the muscle of the lips.
