Death toll due to flu rises to fifty four

The death toll due to flu in the Scotland has increased to fifty four. The number has gone up after the death of four more people. They were died of the lethal swine sprain of the bug.

They were suffering from the disease from last few weeks and died last week. This winter outbreak has badly affected all the regions of the country. Huge numbers of flu cases have been detected in the country and number of people were hospitalized those who are affected by various flu diseases.

Out of these 54 victims, most of them were killed by the H1N1 swine flu virus and others were harmonized to the more common seasonal strain.

Last night, the Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon has warned the people of the country to be careful and take necessary precautions to avoid flu. She has also added that, they are seeing a marginal decline in the flu cases and soon it will be checked completely.

As per Sturgeo, in Scotland the latest rate of GP consultations for flu-like illness has been found out 45.7 per 100,000 but last week it was recorded 47.9.
