Wood-burning stoves are deadly

Research has shown that staying in the smoke produced by wood-burning stoves in very dangerous to health. It may be considered one of the most timeless and comfortable ways of keeping oneself warm, but the dangers associated with it are quite many.

The smoke coming out of such stoves is equally harmful as the emissions coming out of cars' exhaust. This kind of smoke consists of invisible particles that are quite harmful to human heart and can lead to heart diseases and cancer.

Toxicologists have literally issue warning saying that usage of such stoves should be avoided at every possible way. Till recent times, scientists had little knowledge about the bad-effects of wood-burning stoves and that is why they had not stopped the usage of it.

But then, in a research done by Danish scientist, Prof. Steffen Loft showed that these airborne particles are silent killers for the lungs because they are capable enough to cause damage to this vital organ. Also, in some cases it was found that cell mutation also happened because of these.

Even now, the full scale of damage is not known. In many developing countries wood-burning stoves are still in use.
