Clean bill for Health Department

Clean bill for Health Department

The health Secretary Enrique T. Ona has said that the reports regarding the misuse of fund and other alleged irregularities in the agency’s transactions are all counterfeit. He has given his department the clean bill of health. This was issued by the Health chief after the announcement of Malacanang.

It has announced that it would explore how agencies spend their funds and detect if fund conversion or diversion was not only confined to the military and police.

In the health department there are 35,000 employees working. The department does not have any “ghost” employees, fictional projects, or intelligence or discretionary funds that would divert into other purposes as stated by Ona.

Moreover, he has given assurance to Filipino taxpayers and the international donor community by saying that all the donations and allotments made to the department are used in proper way and then properly cleared up and accounted.

He has said that for this current year, the department has been assigned a total of P31.8 billion for its requirements. For personnel services, maintenance and other operating expenses it has been allotted P7.7 billion, P15.1 billion respectively. In addition to that P8.9 billion has been given for capital outlay.
