Kaspar the friendly robot helps autistic kids

Here is news that will bring some cheer for parents of special children diagnosed with autism. Researcher in London has designed a child friendly robot named Kasper keeping in mind the technological advantage of today’s technology. The prime motivation behind this invention was to help millions of children diagnosed with autistic condition.

Kaspar is a remote controlled Robot who interacts with children and help them learn how to interact socially. According to SlashGear, Kaspar is doing a great job. It has been found that a girl named Eden Sawczenko has improved remarkably after her several 10 minutes interaction skills session with Kaspar.

During these sessions Kaspar was monitored by and controlled by a scientist who controlled him with a remote. Kaspar is unique with its human like emotions, as it can smile, frown, blink, wave its arms and laugh. However, the pro-version of Kaspar is even capable of playing Nintendo Wii and also comes with a human skin like feeling in its outer surface.

Kaspar is available at the University of Hertfordshire for $1,300 pounds or approximately $2,118. So far, 300 autistic children have already been help by Kaspar.
