Lawsuit against Taco Bell for ‘Artificial’ Beef Dropped

The contention between the Alabama-based law firm Beasley Allen and the bosses at the Taco Bell finally seems to be resolved after the former has withdrawn its petition against the fast-food chain.

It was earlier reported that the law firm had filed lawsuit against Taco Bell urging that they should stop advertising what they call ‘beef’ as it is nothing but a non-veg amalgam of binders and extenders.

It was accentuated that since the mixture does not meet the prescribed federal guidelines, the company should not fool the general public by labeling it as beef.

The case was presented before the federal court of California in January, but in a sudden U-turn, the firm has taken back its allegations.

According to the speculations, a large amount of money has been paid by the Taco Bell so that the company’s image is not tarnished.

In fact, Beasley Allen has stated that they have withdrawn their case after Taco Bell has promised to make changes in their product disclosure.

The company, however, refutes the same and is maintaining that no money is exchanged and nor are they planning to make any changes in their advertisements.

Greg Creed, CEO of Taco Bell, stated: “We took great exception to the false claims made about our seasoned beef and wish the attorneys had contacted us before filing and publicizing a lawsuit that disparaged our brand”.
