Ontario families will soon have access to more information on childcare centers as the province is expanding its Licensed Child Care Website.

The website will provide more information related to the child care Providers in the province which will be highly beneficial for parents. The website shall also include private-home day care agencies and will have show up to three years of their inspection reports. These reports will have all the information on the safety, hygiene, emergency fire procedure, staffing, supervision and other important aspects of the care providers.

Other than the safety measures, the care centers are also required to produce detailed information on incidents such as missing children, outbreaks of infectious disease and any disaster on the premises, like floods. Last year,
5,510 serious incidents were reported from the child care centers.

The reports will also evaluate whether medications are stored properly in the centers or not. All the licensed child care centers are already required to post inspection summaries and they will have to provide detailed inspection reports to parents on request.

The reports will help the parents in indentifying which child care centre is safe for their kids and can properly look after them.
