Dell Surpasses HP

Dell Surpasses HP

Market reports claimed that Dell Inc. rose by 5.7% in the German trading today after its profits topped the analysts’ predictions and the second quarter profits better than its rival HP.

Dell has got a net income of $945 million or 49 cents per share from the earlier year profits of $341 million or 17 cents. This report has been confirmed by Dell as they have got 55% growth in their earnings. Market analysts estimated that 43% will be the growth in this quarter.

“They executed much better than expected despite strong headwinds”, said Shaw Wu, an analyst at Sterne Agee & Leach Inc. in San Francisco. “Dell gets about 20 percent of sales from consumers, compared with about 30 percent at Hewlett-Packard”, said Wu, who has a neutral rating on Dell shares.

There has been 7.3% less gain for HP in comparison to the gains by Dell. The company got a gain of $1 billion from the whole year and the earnings increased to $5 per share. There have been sales of $129 billion to $130 billion.

There has been a role reversal here according to many market analysts. They all said that Dell was underperformer from the last few years but now they have turned the tables.
