After the controversial issues at Rostrevor House nursing home located in Rathgar, Dublin, the High Court has finally decided to close down the nursing home. The elder people who were residing at Rostrevor have been moved to a safer nursing home.
It has been told by the Health Service Executive (HSE), which has taken charge of Rostrevor House nursing home in Rathgar, that most of the 23 residents in the private nursing home had been moved out and the remainder were expected to move early next week.
The HSE was asked to take over the running of the private nursing home two weeks ago after the Health Information and Quality Authority, which is responsible for inspecting all nursing homes, obtained an interim court order effectively shutting down the facility.
The nursing home has been into news since it was reported that staff at the nursing home abuses the residents. It was again in news when it was revealed that the nursing home lacked in beddings and facility.
There have been many cases in which various nursing homes have been alleged of misbehaving with the elders residing in the home. It is believed that these steps by the court will aware people of the dire consequences of misbehaving with elders.
