In a precedent move, the New South Wales (NSW) will be imposing ban on Kronic and other named synthetic drugs on July 1 to eradicate the scare of synthetic cannabis from its turf.
Despite giving regular warnings about harmful effect on heath after consuming cannabis-related products by health experts, retail outlets have been selling cannabis under the brand names Kronic, Spice, Kaos, Voodoo, Mango and Northern Lights.
Furthermore, MediaWorks radio stations The Edge and Mai FM have been at the receiving end of severe criticism from the Associate Health Minister, Peter Dunne, over its alleged involvement in promoting Kronic through advertisements.
Apparently, MediaWorks defended its action under the cover of Advertising Standards Authority guidelines.
Expressing concern over the long term effect of the same on human health, Health Minister Kevin Humphries claimed, "It is important to understand that these are not soft or recreational herbal products, they represent a real danger to an affected person's safety and wellbeing”.
As per reports, talks are going on between the health department and the state Attorney-General Greg Smith SC to outlaw trading of synthetic cannabis under the NSW Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act.
Without wasting much time, authorities have issued notices to a large number of retailers to dispose the existing stock of synthetic cannabis products before July 1.
After the National Ministry of Tourism gave the approval, it became certain that a new underwater hotel is coming up at Kuredhivaru in the Maldive Islands. Negotiations are underway for deciding on who will build the structure.
