Shaw Communications is in the process of launching a new movie service that is supposed to be set in direct competition with Netflix.

Competition in movie clubs has spread across the country where movies’ choices come from various giants including iTunes, Netflix and Taluses’. The movies distribution is now not just confined to idiot boxes but has spread to mobiles, tablets, Xbox, Play stations and computers of course.

Netflix is currently a major giant and provides the movie without consideration of TV provider. This would be a tough naught to crack for Shaw as its services would only be limited to its subscribers.

On the other note, Shaw has decided to provide these services to its customers free of bandwidth/Data charges which could be a giant leap over Netflix as Netflix uses a lot of bandwidth streaming and increase your internet charges. Shaw has decided to provide these services at price of $12 (+ $5 for HD subscription) per month in comparison to $7.99 for Netflix Subscription. Paying $4 extra for unlimited bandwidth for watching online videos won’t be of much worry for customer, Shaw believes.

“We think at $12 we’ve provided a much more compelling service than Netflix, We’ll just have to wait and see what our customers think”, said Bissonnette, President Shaw Communications.
