Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's Chief Operating Officer is no doubt an asset for Facebook and has increasingly contributed for the growth of company since 2008, she doesn’t call herself as a feminist but is consistently aspiring to increase role of women at senior levels.

Sandberg says that people (both men and women) find it unusual for a woman to be on a high profile job. This often provokes a negative reaction. People don’t like a woman who boasts about her achievement too much.

Secondly, it is difficult for a woman to assert and negotiate when her higher officials are all male. She said that only 7% of women negotiate their salary while taking a job as compared to 57 % of men.

U. S. along with Papua New Guinea and Swaziland are the only countries that don’t require paid maternity leave. Along with this, there are many incidences that state the positions of women were eliminated after the leave and even some of the salaries of women were set back when they resumed work.

In an instance, two of women were promised a raise before they announced their pregnancy. Later, their boss offered to give them more time for their leave in lieu of the increment. Here the negotiation skill would have helped, but only 7% of women have confidence and negotiate in such conditions

She blamed women more for their insecurities rather than men for their sexism.
