Ischemic Stroke on Rise in US

Brain stroke is quite deadly in US, and stands third in the list of US death agents. But, there is one class in brain stroke which is even more lethal than its parent category, and that is ischemic stroke.

Ischemic stroke is a condition in which a blood supplying vein gets blocked due to the deposit of fat in the vein that goes to brain. Increasingly, patients are becoming victim of this stroke and in the US almost 87% people die due to it.

To confirm the condition, U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention researchers studied the profile of patients of last 14 years who belonged to different age group from 5 to 44 years.

It was found that ischemic stroke has increased in children between five and 14, if to put in percentage then there is 31% rise. Those among 15 to 34 years of age were found 30% more susceptible to heart strokes.

Dr. Mary George, co-author of the study, said that results are disappointing and gives warning signal for coming time. Therefore, he has asked the authorities to take some preventive measures which reverse the trend and brings down the increasing percentage.
