A street vendor in Rustenburg is quite famous for selling delicious food items, but recently, it has come into notice that on Saturday, 50 people after eating from this restaurant have fallen ill. In this regard, North West Police have registered a complaint against the vendor of the restaurant.

According to police, it is an attempt to murder case and will proceed accordingly. Sample of food has been taken to the laboratory.

However, till now no arrests have been made but the police are trying to investigate the matter thoroughly.

All the 50 ill people were admitted to two hospitals of Rustenburg. These hospitals are Job Shimankana and Moses Kotane. The suspected reason for their illness could be food poisoning, as told by the Health department.

Now, the situation of all patients is in control. As told by the North West health Department Spokesperson Tebogo Lekgethwane, health of all the patients is stable now and they will be released soon.

As told by Police Constable Provia Tseke: "Police swiftly responded to a call [on Saturday] when 18 victims passed out as a result of eating food they bought from a restaurant at the Rustenburg bus rank".
