‘Battle of the Blades’ Rewards to Local Charity, Swears Bonhomme

Canadian hockey player Tessa Bonhomme, a member of the 2010 Olympic champion team, has participated in the ‘Battle of the Blades’ show telecasted on CBC. The contestant and her partner David Pelletier have announced that if they won the game, they would like to support Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

David Pelletier, partner of Tessa Bonhomme, was going to participate in the CIBC Run for the Cure in Sudbury. In the game, contestants were supposed to understand how to skate and compete with other teams. The winners of the game were provided the opportunity to give the amount as charity to any organisation they desire.

Bonhomme was quiet closely associated to breast cancer as her grandmother suffered the disease, and survived the condition. The player revealed in a press meeting that she want researchers to find a complete cure for the disease, so that other people don’t face any difficulty in dealing with it.

As per Mary Katherine Coady, Sudbury Run Site Co-Director, the Run for the Cure is a 5 kilometer run or walk event, and spectators are urged to wear pink, as the theme of the event is to Think Pink.
