According to reported data, a specialist health group from Health Canada has apparently urged that various leading health and energy drinks, including Monster, Rockstar and Red Bull, ought to be tagged as "stimulant drug containing drinks".

In addition, health experts claimed that these energy drinks should only be sold under strict and direct administration of a qualified pharmacist.

The panel's theory has further claimed that an immensely strict direct over various energy and health drinks is imperative so as to satisfy and resolve consumer queries and confusions, particularly among youngsters and young adults who are now free to buy caffeinated brews from ‘over-the-counter’ convenience shops along with pop, juices and sports drinks, juices and pop.

"This would more formally signal to the general public that these are drug products, not foods", stated the report, which was dated November 2010.

In deep contrast with leading sports drinks and energizers, which are filled with immense electrolytes, these energy drinks are fabricated mainly for adults but somehow, the current trend suggests that these drinks are utterly popular and majorly used by teenagers.

However, the reports revealed that these energy drinks host elevated levels of caffeine. The high level of caffeine in energy drinks, which has now been dubbed as ‘natural health substance’ by regulations, mainly persuades and inspires drink makers to claim various health benefits, including the claim which states that Red Bull and other such drinks enhance the levels of energy in our body and provides a boost to it.
