Residents Oppose Placing of Tower in Housing Area

Residents of Hazeldean have opposed the placing of a tower in the housing area of the region. The tower is 25-meter-long and will provide network to mobile phones.

The people of the housing area were planning talks with networking company Rogers on issue of placing the tower. Wendy Ferguson, a resident of the area, complains that the tower, if placed, will occupy the car parking space in front of his house.

Also, Max Merritt opposed to the plan of placing tower, and stated that the tower is longer than the trees, and it is being placed adjacent to the bike path. Around 100 people residing in the region have approved the protest by signing a petition, which demands shifting the placing of the tower project to somewhere near the industrial sector.

As per Councilor Kerry Diotte, "I'm hearing that they don't want a cell phone tower in their backyard. I can't blame them". The Rogers Communication revealed that the placement of the tower was necessary to improve network connectivity in the region.

The Company will be meeting the residents and will explain the entire situation. The firm is further planning 20 towers in Edmonton to meet the network demands of smartphone owners.
