Exercise Labels on Food and Drinks Yield Good Results

Researchers are highly concerned over the health of people and the shake in their calorie chart that generally occur due to eating junk food and drinking beverages. And so, they are concentrating strictly on warning labels that usually guide drinkers about the exercise routine they should maintain to cut the calorie intake.

Recently, a team of researchers appreciated the warning labels and their style for being far more effective than traditional counts in explaining how much exercise one needs to efficiently run off the calories in junk food.

From their research, the researchers noticed that reading warnings on fizzy drink cans has almost halved the number of drinkers.

A similar edition was also printed by the researchers in the American Journal of Public Health, stating that printing physical activity equivalent chart on unhealthy drinks and food could serve well the purpose of reducing the popularity of so-called cheesy meals or energy drinks.

Regarding the situation, Health Expert Dr. Sarah Bleich said that usually people do not seriously focus on the calories that junk food and fizzy drinks actually contain and underestimate them, but reading warning that one would need one hour or so physical activity to cut down the calories of a particular drink has really contribute well in lessening the number of the drinkers or the junk food eaters as well.

Study author Dr. Sara Bleich said: “People generally underestimate the number of calories in the foods and beverages they consume. Providing easily understandable caloric information-particularly in the form of a physical activity equivalent, such as running-may reduce calorie intake from sugar-sweetened beverages and increase water consumption among low-income adolescents”.
