NASA's Grail Gravity Twins Will Soon Orbit Moon

NASA now has a new mission set, and by the coming weekend it will be sending its twin satellites into orbit around the Moon to clearly map out the gravity information.

NASA experts have high hopes from the Grail spacecraft which, on working accurately as per their calculations, will be providing scientists with many remarkable new insights into the internal structure of the lunar body.

The expected data will make it easier for scientists to clarify and clear some of the hidden facts about the moon, including how it was formed? Why its sides appear different? And many more similar mysteries are likely to be solved.

The lead scientist of the mission is Dr. Maria Zuber. There are many more dramatic discoveries that the team of scientists working on the project is expecting from the mission of twin satellites.

Disclosing some information on the new mission, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researcher said that with help of the Grail spacecraft, they will be earning more and clear knowledge about the Moon and the nearside gravity that the lunar body has.

Also, the researcher added that the mission stands very important for providing us with the expected information that would be 100 times more than what we all know about Moon and more than 1,000 times over what was known on the far-side.

"In science, when we can improve measurements by a factor of two, we usually learn an awful lot; but when we improve measurements by orders of magnitude, the kind of science that we do is actually transformative", the researchers added.

The twin satellites were launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, last September. After taking a long spiral way out to their destination, the twin satellites will soon be entering into the orbit to serve their assigned purpose.
