Standard Chartered Paid $53mn in Salary to its Bankers

The life of Standard Chartered bankers is a lucrative one as they not only work in one of the top banks of the world, but their salary is also believed to be highest among all the bankers of the world. Recently, about eight bankers of Standard Chartered received $53m in total as their salary and annual bonus.

The huge amount would have definitely left you amazed. It has been informed that for the past nine years, Standard Chartered has been making astonish profits. Its profits have turned an award for Peter Sands, Richard Meddings, Mr. Rees and many other have been paid $5.3m, $3.6m and $14.1 million (includes last year’s salary as well) by the bank, respectively.

It has come to light that HSBC’s eight-highest paid bankers’ salary is £30m in total. It has been informed that Standard Charted is planning to bring changes in the pension scheme of the bankers. It has further been informed that any new director joining the bank would have 40% of their salary paid as cash contributions, rather than being paid into the company pension scheme. Looking at the lucrative salary figures of the bankers, one will feel like joining the top notch banks. However, getting a job into these banks isn’t as easy as it appears to be.
