Should "Pro-ana" Websites Persist?

Social media sites are viewed and used by almost every other individual these days and the messages that are displayed on these sites, bring a strong impact on people. Therefore, it is strictly ban to promote a kind of message that tends to disturb an individual in some or the other way. Like eating disorder is a serious aspect and promoting it on social site could harm others. But, it is noticed that though such messages are banned, but still there are some pages that displays them.

Recently, a blog was discovered with pro-ana tags. It was a popular site where a woman flaunted her three day fasting menu. She wrote she consumed only tea, vitamins, and a gallon of water for getting a skinny body.

She also wrote: “I'm super psyched to weigh in. If I can make it till noon Friday I may extend it through the weekend”. In lieu of this, many other followers supported her and said they’ll love to join such weight loss attempts.

She not only mentioned about her fasting techniques, but also posted few images of frail women. These pictures were strong enough to offer people with positive mantras for promoting weight loss. Therefore, her blog quickly became an online snapshot for all those suffering from a kind of eating disorder.
