Strategy to Crack Down Botnets Found

People using Botnets need to be made aware about the dangerous activities performed by the dangerous Botnets. It has been informed that the Botnets sent spam and virus. However, the sorry part of the story is that many computer owners are unaware that they are being used for transferring spam.

It is really difficult to stop botnets from narrowing down its highly dangerous activities. It has been informed that botnets are majorly used for criminal activities and legitimate security companies are prohibited from using it.

In 2011, Kelihos botnet was shut down. But still through mysterious activities, the botnet was able to update itself. However, this time the security experts from Kaspersky Lab, Dell SecureWorks, CrowdStrike Intelligence Team and the Honeynet Project have claimed of having found a concrete way of defeating Kelihos botnet which includes 116,000 computers.

It has been informed that by taking out the infected botnets away from the command-and-control server, the dangerous botnet could be defeated. Thus, control over the transfer of spam could be established. It is hoped that the security companies would be able to curb out the menace of botnets and would prevent the spam from being transferred from one computer to another.
