A report has uncovered recently that an elderly man residing in Bridgend, aged 67, has successfully conceived a child on the NHS with his half aged wife.

The report says that the couple, retired nurse Malcolm Lawrence and 31-year-old Ann-Marie had married 11 years ago in their home town of Bridgend, South Wales. Marie was merely 19 years old when Malcolm fell in love with her.

It has been revealed that Malcolm has survived a dozen heart attacks and has also suffered bladder op 30 years ago. The couple desired to have a baby soon after marriage, though they were not able to conceive one because of the same. It is being said that Malcolm’s old age did not allow them to conceive a child naturally.

Besides, they could not even go for the IVF procedure as Marie was too young for the same. This is why Malcolm gave a sperm sample to the NHS, which was stored for a period of ten years at a Cardiff hospital in the city.

As per the findings of the report, the couple then started the course of IVF last year, which allowed Marie to become pregnant for the first time. However, people were saying that he is weak and too old to become a father. But, Malcolm says that he has proved them wrong by giving his wife a wonderful present of having her own baby.

Both of them have been blessed with a baby daughter named Cerys-May, who weighed 7lb at birth. ‘I’m not bothered about the age difference and I try not to worry about the future too much. I’m just happy to have a daughter’, Marie said, expressing her happiness. And they are now planning to have a second baby via the same technique, says the report.
