In recent years, there is a trend that has started among women who opt for liposuction as an easy way to trim down the extra fat. Rather than going in for a rigorous exercise regime, women have been taking the easy way out. But according to a Brazilian study, all these women would need to have to rethink before they opt for liposuction again. It states that women who have liposuction may actually gain some fat deeper within the abdomen.
This mean that if you don’t exercise after getting liposuction, then there is an increased risk of taking on some more weight and a type of fat that's particularly unhealthy. The researchers found that within months of abdominal liposuction, a type of fat known as visceral fat starts to accumulate in the abdomen area. The lead researcher of the study, Fabiana Benatti of the University of Sao Paolo said that this can be avoided if the person does regular exercise. The results of the study have been published in the journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Benatti said, “Removing it by surgery may have important consequences such as the compensatory growth of visceral fat, which may be deleterious in the long term”.
