In the wake of growing number of alcohol-related hospital admissions, minimum price for alcohol would come into effect soon. It has been decided by the Scottish government after looking at all the factors. It was indeed expected that there would be some sort of steps taken to deal with the rising problem of alcoholism.

"Introducing a minimum price per unit will enable us to tackle these problems, given the clear link between affordability and consumption”, said Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon, while confirming that the proposal would be cleared next week in the parliament.

There is need for steps to be taken to ensure that alcohol doesn’t affect severely Scottish further. With alcohol becoming far more affordable for one and all, there was need that stern measures are being put in place to deal with the rising contentious issue.

While steps like diluting discount deals on alcohol were taken, it was indeed required that a lot more is being done so that the current situation can be controlled within safe limits. There is need for one and all to understand that alcohol does no good to their health and they are calling on health complications by indulging in alcohol.
