Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Calls For Volunteers

It seems that Australia's Biggest Morning Tea has caught the attention of one and all once again as it has been claimed that there are calls being made by the Cancer Council of Victoria for people to come forward and be a part of crusade against cancer on May 24.

All funds raised through the charity event would be injected in the Cancer Council helpline so that those who are reeling under the scar of cancer can be suitably supported in some way. One can eight arrange a morning tea party themselves or they can attend any of the local events being held on the same throughout the month of May.

It is believed that a minimal donation of $50 can ensure the pay of a registered nurse who can have oncology qualifications and the required experience for supporting a cancer patient. While last year, year $2.4 million was raised across Victoria, there are expectations that there would be a lot more funds raised this time also.

"We will have a range of sweet and savoury treats, tea and juice, and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. Last year we raised $376, and this year we are hoping to raise even more", said LJ Hooker Torquay, who would be hosting their 10th annual morning tea on Thursday May 24.
