South Africa Wins Two of Giant Radio Telescopes’ Three Major Components in a Bid

As per reports, it has been revealed that a giant radio telescope, which has been specially developed to closely take into account make-up of the universe, will be shared by scientists from Australia and South Africa. It has been reported that after administering the project on Friday, international consortium made this declaration.

It has been reported that this new development has been well assisted with as many as thousands of separate dishes.

It has been revealed that consortium led by South Africa included several other countries of Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. Thus, it has been termed that even in these countries, the telescopes will be established.

Further, it has been declared that dishes in South Africa will be erected at an isolated site in Karoo desert, where already a smaller radio telescope project is being established.

Previous reports suggest that South Africa and Australia, along with New Zealand competed with each other in bidding for the project. But it was finally South Africa that claimed victory. It has been discovered that the country has won two of the projects’ three major components.

It has been reported that after winning the bid, it was a moment of celebration for science minister and also scientists, who prepared the bid for the project.
