Committee to Decide On WTC Cancer Cases

As per reports, it has been revealed that the US Government will decide in next a few days that till what extent it can provide assistance to people, who were injured in the World Trade Center incident. By this, it does not mean only those people, who were present on the site on the day of tragedy, but also those who have been affected by its aftermath effects.

It should, however, be noticed that the federal government officials have not confirmed that whether or not, they will provide the assistance. If the response will be in positive then the decision will not be less than a celebration for many rescue and recovery workers, who have worked at the site.

An advisory committee was of the view that the government should initiate a program, which will help people, who have been diagnosed with cancer due to the incident. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health director Dr. John Howard said that he has asked the government to take the decision soon.

“Either we believe that illnesses were caused by the toxins that were down there — in which case, people should be cared for — or we don’t”, said Howard.
