Blood Donation Camp to Thank Voluntary Donors

Blood Donation Camp to Thank Voluntary Donors

As per a new report, it has been revealed that World Health Organization is organizing World Blood Donor Day on Thursday, June 14.

It has been uncovered that the drive aims at raising awareness about the need for safe blood banks as well as blood products. This time the campaign is being organized with the theme dubbed Every Blood Donor Is a Hero.

The group says that blood donations do not only help in saving millions of lives each year, but also improves severely suffering patients’ quality of life. Also, it has equivalent benefit to donors as it purifies their blood.

The report finds that while almost 62 countries are able to supply blood with the help of voluntary and unpaid blood donations, most of the times, blood services are challenged with good quality blood availability due to demand being higher than supply.

It is being said that the event would recognize life-savers to thank and honour them as well as would encourage more people to become regular volunteers. The team says that donors should be of or above 16 years of age, in good health with 120 pounds or more weight.
