It has been revealed in a new report that Patrick Ivison, a boy paralyzed for nearly 17 years, showed an amazing picture on Tuesday, when he stood up on his feet and walked to get his high school diploma.
Patrick from San Diego was not able to walk since he was a toddler as he had met with an accident, which made him paralyzed. The report has found that a care had run over him, leaving his spinal cord injured and paralyzing him from the waist down.
However, the boy never left his hopes and has always tried to live a normal child’s life. While he was always there for skiing, surfing and playing with his friends, his biggest dream was to accept his diploma at the stage.
It is being said that he finally was successful in fulfilling his dream, when his name was announced with the crowd cheering him and he went up using a custom-made walker.
As per the findings, he was so determined that he used to spend six hours each day in intensive physical therapy so he may reach his goal. The boy’s effort made him receive standing ovation during the graduation ceremony.
“He is always happy and he has a great sense of humor”, said graduating senior Daniel Alexander.
