Recent Findings Suggest European Cave Art Older Than Previously Thought

As per recent reports, it has been revealed that archeologists have claimed that Stone Age artists works, including painting of red disks, blueprint of hands, symbols depicting something like a club and geometric patterns, on European caves are older than previously assumed. Rather, in a case of a few works they have summed up that the work is more than 40,000 years old.

Moreover, they assumed that the artists must be Neanderthals, members of a now-extinct group of the genus Homo known from Pleistocene specimens found in Europe and parts of western and central Asia.

It has been reported that the statement was given out yesterday, after; these anthropologists reviewed the previous findings and used better dating tests to determine the time.

Further, these researchers said, “A more likely situation is that the art - 50 samples from 11 caves in northwestern Spain- was created by anatomically modern humans fairly soon after their arrival in Europe”.

The researchers proposed that while examining the fossils they analyzed that human race must have settled down in England 41,500 to 44,200 years ago and in Italy 43,000 to 45,000 years ago, and they were creating imprints of flutes in German caves around 42,000 years back.
