Scientists Strapping Cameras to Hawaiian Seals

Soon, people can see a makeover of Hawaiian Seals with government scientists’ new plan of fitting cameras to Hawaiian monk seals.

Scientists have plants to strap cameras to seals to uncover their living style and also all those misconceptions that the fishermen in the region have about the species.

Since a time, rumors are airing that fishermen are losing their catch as the endangered species are stealing their piece and are devouring their entire fish stock. To clear the facts, the government scientists have planned to fix submersible cameras onto the seals' backs in order to use the footage of the cameras to bring out the facts.

Reports are confirming that at least four of the species have been killed by humans in Hawaii since late last year. To stop any more harm to the species, experts have initiated their new move.

"It's following seals to have them tell their own story”, Mr. Charles Littnan, lead scientist for the National Marine Fisheries Service's Hawaiian Monk Seal Research Program said.

To support the facts and protect the species population from all such harms, National Geographic Society has also submitted the "Critter cams," as their latest tactic.

Recent counting has confirmed that the population of the species is down to only 1,100 left presently in Pacific Ocean waters around Hawaii. It’s time to save Hawaii seals!
