Mary Archer Made Dame on the Anniversary of Queen’s Birthday

It was a jubilant movement for Cambridge University Hospitals Chairman Mary Archer. On the eve of Queen's birthday, she was added to the honors list, by being made a Dame. She was very much elated after hearing this news and said that the honor was a tribute to the staff of the trust that she is heading. She thanked all of them for their contribution and the dedication which they have worked.

It has been a more than a decade, that Dame Mary has remained the chairman of Cambridge University Hospitals. She has received this honor, for all her devotion and commitment to the health care. The trust also came forward to congratulate Dame Mary, stating that it was her that helped pioneer an information pack for prostate cancer patients. She was also involved in many other programs like Addenbrooke's abroad programme.

She said, "I am greatly honored by this award and believe in NHS and its enduring value to society. I have seen how innovation in UK healthcare can arise from close collaboration between the NHS and the scientific and academic communities". She is 66-years-old and wife of novelist and former Tory MP Jeffrey Archer.
