six years back, the gaming giant Nintendo Wii game console arrived in the US with the intension of allowing kids to have a bit of exercise at home. The games like Tennis were famous among kids.
The Wii game console gave birth to the “exergames”. The concept of exergames gave hope to people that entertainment can boost fitness. However, after years of usage, it came to light that the notion attached with exergames was feeble.
It was found that the increased usage of exergames did not actually increase the physical activities of children. The result of it led to the epidemic of obesity. technology advancements and advanced science are said to be the two strongest pillars of the US. However, if one looks at them minutely, then one may realize that advancement in video gaming, in particular, has added top growing obesity.
During a recent study, no evidence was found which could show that “children receiving the active video games were more active in general, or at any time, than children receiving the inactive video games”. The findings of the study clearly shows that more is required to be done for encouraging children to get some exercise.
