A recent discovery of cluster of galaxies has surprised researchers as they were clue less about the existence of such a massive cluster of galaxies. It is believed that the new galaxies are located at a distance of 10 billion light-years.

The cluster of galaxies was discovered by the NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. It is believed that the newly discovered galaxies were formed 13.7 billion years ago. The gravitational lensing has given the galaxies an arc shape.

The galaxies were studied by a team of researcher under the supervision of Anthony Gonzalez. Anthony Gonzalez was surprised when he saw the arch shaped galaxies for the first time. He thought that the shinning arc would disappear. But, it didn’t.

Anthony Gonzalez said, “When I first saw it, I kept staring at it, thinking it would go away. According to a statistical analysis, arcs should be extremely rare at that distance”. Further research would be conducted to understand the nature of the newly found galaxies. The cluster of galaxies has been named IDCS J1426.5+3508. It is hoped that in the coming time, more will be unveiled about the galaxies. The shape of the galaxies might provide the researchers some information about the gravitational pull located at such a far place from Earth.
