In 1969, a meteorite named Allende fall on Earth. Since 2007, geologist Chi Ma of Caltech was trying to look into this meteorite if he could find something new. Finally, while exploring it with the help of a scanning electron microscope, he discovered 9 new materials, among which panguite is one of them. Panguite is a totally new substance that was earlier unknown to the science.

As discovered by Ma and his team, this mineral is one of the foremost solid materials to unite in our solar system. It belongs to our universe since last 4.567 billion years.

Ma named this mineral panguite because he has referred it to Pan Gu, who was a primitive, hairy giant in Chinese tradition. With the help of a swing of his colossal axe, he once separated yin and yang, which further transformed into the Earth and sky.

Panguite has an elemental nature which means that it belonged to our universe even before the formation of earth and other planets. This means that it is a good way of learning more about the cloud of gases and dust existing in the universe prior the formation of our solar system. It’s been 40 years that this meteorite crashed to Earth but even today it is spring of information.
