Seattle Breast Cancer Patient gets Permission to Swim Topless

A woman from Seattle has nothing to hide from people and this is the reason that she wants to swim topless at the Medgar Evers public pool, which is near to her home. It is not that Jaecks wants to reveal her body, but because she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone double mastectomy procedure in 2011.

She tried to swim in a swimming suit, but felt pain, and immediately removed the suit, and asked for permission from coach that whether or not she could swim topless. Reply was unaccepted as she was denied by saying that she should maintain her dignity.

She went back without swimming. After a few months, Christopher Williams, who is the director of Seattle Parks and Recreation, intervened in the matter and changed the law, as per which, Jaecks was allowed to swim topless. However, they have been allowed to swim during the time when adults come.

Jaecks is quite upset to know that only she has been allowed to swim topless and not other women, who go through the same. “Then it came that it wasn't a policy change, it was just an exception for me. Then I was quite deflated”, she further affirmed.
