Confusion Still On regarding the Diets of Prehumans

Four years ago, skeletons of two prehuman species were found in the Malapa caves northwest of Johannesburg, Southern Africa. They were deeply analyzed by Lee Berger of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Out of these skeletons, one was of an adult female and the other of a juvenile male. This information clearly indicated that these skeletons belong to the new hominin species.

They were a little more than four feet tall. Their brains were comparatively small and they had a blend of ancient and more contemporary anatomies.

Lucky Mr. Lee, who found few particles of their last meals, left in their teeth that they had eaten almost two million years ago. As a result, he discovered that these hominins used to live exclusively on a diet of leaves, fruits, wood and bark. It was quite surprising for all. It is difficult to believe that “what you are” depends upon “what you eat”. And if this is a fact then it is very much clear to note that the diets of prehumans, both within and between species were quite diverse.

Well the findings of this research are highly in contrast to the data already available in regard to other hominins living in the regions and in different places of Africa. Reason: They used to have grasses and sedges from the savanna. Further investigation is still on to summarize the research.
