Middle East Women Tested For Virginity

No doubt the Middle East women are living in a totally different world when it comes to their rights, a recent report showed how virgin tests were forced on women. There are cases heard where women are being killed brutally if they are not virgin before marriage, which unveils the state of mind of the men there.

Doctors at the Medical Legal Institute (MLI) in Baghdad are reported to be doing virginity test on women to check if they are worth to be married or not. "The husband claim that she is not a virgin, and then the family bring her here, through the courts, this all come through the courts, and we examine her”, said Dr. Munjid al-Rezali, the director of the MLI, while claiming that maximum number of such cases is reported after first day of marriage.

During the test, women are tested for hymen and there are chances that a man is tested for impotency too, as there are cases where women are being proved non-virgin so that erectile dysfunction of a man can be hidden.

All the results are sent to the court, where final decision is being taken. Such practices show how backward few countries are where women are more or less projected as an object of pleasure.
